At long last, the first trailer for Young Justice: Outsiders is here. DC fans were very upset when the show went off the air after just two seasons three years ago and after a whole lot of begging for it, Warner Bros. answered the call and picked up the series for a third season. Now, fresh from its debut at San Diego Comic-Con, we have the first footage from the new season, which is lengthy and should prove to be worth the wait for those who have been desperate for more action from the young DC heroes.

Since it's been so long, the trailer kicks off with a bit of footage reminding us as to how we arrive at the events of the upcoming season 3. This thing is loaded with drama, action and a whole lot of characters from every corner of the DC universe. Nightwing bailed on the team at the end of season 2, but here, we see that he reunites Superboy, Aqualad, who is now rocking a serious beard, and Artemis for a mission to stop metahuman trafficking. Warner Bros. had this to say in a statement to coincide with the release of the new trailer.

"The fans have waited long enough and it's time for a first look at one of the most highly anticipated shows of the year. In Young Justice: Outsiders, the teenage super heroes of the DC Universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, Super-Villains, and super secrets. This time, the team faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy."

Young Justice originally aired on Cartoon Network from 2011 to 2013. Unfortunately, at the time, it just wasn't bringing in the ratings the network needed to justify keeping it on the air. Thankfully, when DC decided they were going to launch their own streaming service, the forthcoming DC Universe, they needed content. That's how Young Justice season 3 came to be and it's going to be here for a little while at least. Warner Bros. and DC have committed to a 26 episode series order. If the new season is successful, the creative team already has ideas in place for season 4. No premiere date has been set, but it's expected that Young Justice: Outsiders will debut in 2019.

The series is executive produced by Sam Register and produced by co-creators Vietti and Greg Weisman. The entire voice cast is back from the original run, with plenty of guest stars sure to pop up along the way. DC Universe will launch later this year, with pre-orders available now. Subscriptions to the service are going for $7.99 monthly or a $74.99 annual fee.
