DC Universe has finally unveiled the premiere date for the highly anticipated Young Justice: Outsiders Season 3. The series will hit the streaming service on January 4h, 2019. The release date was revealed through a brief new teaser that shows the Earth as Apokolips slowly steals the focus. It's short, but it gets the point across. The roster for Young Justice: Outsiders features Static, Kid Flash, Robin, Wonder Girl, Spoiler, Blue Beetle, Thirteen, Arrowette, Arsenal, and Beast Boy.

Young Justice: Outsiders features the teenage Superheroes of the DC Universe back for the highly anticipated Season 3. The team faces its greatest challenge so far as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the devastating threat that it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race taking over the galaxy. There's a lot going on, but it's been 6 years since fans last saw the popular series on the Cartoon Network. The possibility of Season 3 was first hinted at by series co-developer Greg Weisman in 2016, when he teased that it could happen if fans were enthusiastic about Netflix picking up the second season.

Producer Brandon Vietti recently spoke about what fans can expect with Young Justice: Outsiders, noting that they're working off of the Earth-16 version. However, the show isn't going to be a direct adaptation from the comics. Vietti had this to say about some of the changes that fans can expect.

"It also allows us to kind of riff on the comic books rather than have to stick to them very faithfully. What we try to do is at least really pay respect to the characters or storylines that we're riffing off of so that hardcore fans really feel that respect but also can be surprised. The hardcore fans that know these stories and know these characters inside and out, we want something new and something fresh, a different take. And then for new people coming onboard hopefully they'll be able to see our stuff and go backward and see what the source material was and rediscover the DC Universe as we have."

Hardcore Young Justice: Outsiders fans have been waiting a long time to see Season 3, so they're going to be pumped no matter what. Now that some time has passed, the show will more than likely gain a new younger audience as well, which is part of the goal. Thankfully, fans don't have to wait too much longer to see what the new season is all about.

Young Justice originally aired on the Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2012 before it was canceled in 2013. A dedicated fan base helped keep the series in the alive and in the news, which helped for the show to make its way back for Season 3. Young Justice: Outsiders will be shown exclusively on DC's streaming service early next year. Expect another trailer before the end of the year.
