The man who portrayed the fake Drew McIntyre on WWE Raw this week is none other than David Krumholtz, the actor who played the Head Elf Bernard in The Santa Clause. Taking to Instagram after his special appearance, Krumholtz posted a photo of himself in character and confirmed that he was the one to play McIntyre during a comedy segment on the pro wrestling show.

"You're gosh darn right I was on the @wwe tonight. Thanks to all those who made this happen," David Krumholtz says in the caption. He also personally thanks Christine Lubrano Dyer, Senior VP of Creative Writing Operations at WWE, for the opportunity.

On Raw, the skit in question occurred during the Dirt Sheet, a talk show-style segment hosted by The Miz and John Morrison. Poking fun at a scheduled match at Royal Rumble between Goldberg and Drew McIntyre, Miz and Morrison first introduced Goldberg as their guest, but instead of the WWE Hall of Famer, the parody wrestler Gillberg walked out instead. Gillberg, a much-smaller version of Goldberg, has frequently spoofed Goldberg in sporadic WWE appearances over the years.

After Gillberg did his best Goldberg impression once again, McIntyre's music blared over the loudspeakers. Fans were hoping the real Drew would be coming out to set Miz and Morrison straight, but what we got instead was a shirtless Krumholtz with a wig, kilt, and miniature sword. Using a Scottish accent, Krumholtz argues with Gillberg, though Morrison criticizes him for not doing the voice well enough. Krumholtz then tries to get the tag team to "cut" and shoot the skit again, only to be yelled at as the show is live.

Most wrestling fans didn't seem to realize at the time that they've most likely seen the Drew McIntyre actor in movies in the past. As a young actor, Krumholtz played the Head Elf Bernard in the 1994 holiday movie The Santa Clause, later reprising the role for the 2002 sequel. He also plays Goldstein in the Harold & Kumar comedy movie series, appearing in all three installments of the franchise. He has also had roles in movies like Mr. Popper's Penguins, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and Crown Vic.

More recently, Krumholtz has been appearing on the small screen as well with appearances on Billions, Mom, The Deuce, and many other shows. Last year, he played a mayor in an episode of Jordan Peele's reboot of The Twilight Zone. He also had a recurring role in the miniseries The Plot Against America and appeared on the comedy series Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens.

As for the real Drew McIntyre and Goldberg, the two WWE superstars are scheduled to lock up at the Royal Rumble event on Sunday, Jan. 31. The two will be competing for the WWE Championship while Roman Reigns will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens. A 30-man Royal Rumble match will also be held along with a 30--woman Royal Rumble match, with each winner named as the No. 1 contender for championship title matches at this year's WrestleMania. This news comes to us from David Krumholtz on Instagram.
