Following the first photos that debuted last month, Netflix has released a new trailer for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, which debuts Friday, July 31 with an eight-episode season. Based on the 2001 cult classic Wet Hot American Summer, the prequel series tells the story of the first day of Camp Firewood's famous summer season, now fourteen years after the film's debut. The original movie took place on the last day of camp, with all of the stars reprising their original roles as teenagers, all these years later.

The counselors confirmed to return are Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, and Michael Showalter. The trailer features brief glimpses of some of these cast members, while highlighting all of the fun activities one could partake in by spending your summer at Camp Firewood. The series is directed by David Wain and co-written by David Wain and Michael Showalter.

The new trailer is formatted as an advertisement for the camp, narrated by none other than H. Jon Benjamin, who reprises his voice role "Can of Vegetables" from the movie in the upcoming Netflix series. Series creator David Wain teased last month that he thinks there is plenty more story to tell, and that there might be a second season on Netflix. While we wait for an official confirmation regarding the second season, check out the latest trailer for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, which will debut Friday, July 31 with all eight episodes available for streaming.
