In a shocking scene on live television, talk show host Wendy Williams, in her Statue of Liberty Halloween costume, fainted and fell on the set of The Wendy Williams Show. The shocked studio audience didn't know how to react as some started screaming when Williams fell to the ground. Crew members can be seen rushing to the stage before the show cut to commercial. Many viewers at home were stunned as well, taking to social media to wish Williams well. 6-minutes after the incident occurred, Wendy Williams was back live on air, as if nothing had ever happened.

Wendy Williams always begrudgingly dresses up for Halloween and this year she was the Statue of Liberty. The talk show host stood behind a podium getting ready to host the Halloween costume contest, entitled, "How You Doin' Halloween Costume Contest" when she began to look confused. Williams slurred her words, and struggled to speak, after which she collapsed on set. The dramatic event lasted only a few seconds and as previously mentioned, the show immediately cut to commercial.

After the abrupt break Wendy Williams was back and said, "That was not a stunt. I overheated and did pass out, but I'm a champ and I'm back." Her producers had this to say.

"Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights.  She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. She will address the incident on tomorrow's show."

The statement concluded with a thank you to everyone who wished her well. According to Wendy Williams' representatives, the talk show host has never missed a day of work and she will be celebrating her 1500th show in November. Fans of Williams took to Twitter to express their shock at seeing their favorite TV star dramatically collapse live on the air. One fan wrote, "Praying for Wendy Williams... I hope she gets herself checked out." Another fan tweeted, "That Wendy Williams footage is terrifying." And a third fan was clearly shaken by the incident and said, "OMG. Wendy Williams just fainted on live TV! I hope she's okay." Wendy Williams came back on the air to rally like a champ and her fans were ecstatic to see her back on stage.

Earlier, 53-year old Wendy Williams complained about Halloween. She said, "This is not my holiday, I am doing this under duress." The talk show host then went on to say that she doesn't like seeing adults dress like "weirdos and freaks." Maybe the Halloween gods were listening and decided to give her a little taste of some Halloween karma. Or, she really did just pass out due to the heat and makeup from her costume.
