A new trailer for Wayne has been released. The hit YouTube Red series has been given a new chance at Amazon Prime. The gritty comedy, which debuted in January 2019, brought some huge numbers to YouTube, while receiving rave reviews from critics at the same time. Fans were certain that season 2 was on the way, thanks to the massive streaming numbers that were coming in. The first episode alone was watched more than 10 million times in less than a week.

Wayne is an action comedy series from Deadpool and Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who are executive producers on the show. The duo also wrote one of the episodes. In addition, Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, Iain B. MacDonald also serve as executive producers, along with Shawn Simmons, who created Wayne. In the series, 16-year old Wayne can't help himself from righting the world's wrongs. Now, against all odds, he and his girlfriend Del are on a road trip to reclaim what's rightfully his.

In this gritty and sometimes bloody tale, Wayne sets out on a dirt bike with his new crush Del to take back the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am that was stolen from his father before he died. It is Wayne and Del against the world. Wayne stars Mark McKenna (Sing Street) as Wayne and Ciara Bravo (Big Time Rush) as Del. Joshua J. Williams (Mudbound) has a reoccurring role as Orlando. The show quickly became an unexpected hit of 2019 and fans were shocked to see that it was canceled. At the time, Rhett Reese noted that Wayne, "wasn't canceled, per se. Rather, its network was canceled." YouTube Red also ended up bringing Cobra Kai to Netflix, which has worked out really well.

Wayne Poster

As for whether or not Wayne season 2 will happen, that is unclear at the moment. However, it is certainly a good sign that Amazon has picked up the beloved show and is giving it a second chance. There is plenty of good buzz surrounding the series, which has a 100% Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and a 98% rating from viewers. Amazon Prime might be giving the show a test run to see how the response is on their end, before committing to season 2.

Wayne is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime November 6th. As for fans who have already seen season 1, now might be a good time to re-watch it to let Amazon know that you'd like to see the story continue. Cobra Kai was already renewed for season 3 when it moved to Netflix, so it was ahead of the game. The streaming service has already renewed the hit series for season 4 and season 3 hasn't even debuted. Wayne is going to have to prove itself to the new distributor in order for season 2 to have a chance. You can check out the Wayne trailer above, thanks to the Amazon Prime Video YouTube channel.
