In just under two months, The Walking Dead Season 7 will kick off with its highly-anticipated premiere, airing Sunday, October 23 at 9 PM ET on AMC. Ever since the Season 6 finale in April, fans have been trying to uncover the huge cliffhanger from the episode, where the iconic villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) was introduced, lining up 11 members of Rick's crew, before killing one of them. While we won't find out the identity of this victim until the premiere, new promos have surfaced for each of these 11 characters.
The promos debuted on the YouTube page of the show's international home, Fox International Channels, which offers fans a montage of footage from previous seasons, to remember these characters by, if in fact they are Negan's victim. These promos feature Carl (Chandler Riggs), Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun). We reported a few months ago that all 11 actors shot their own death scenes so spoilers wouldn't get out, but we won't know for sure who the victim is until the October 23 premiere.
Just a few days ago, the first clip aired for the Season 7 premiere during a Walking Dead special hosted by Chris Hardwick, which seemed to hint that Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) may have been the victim. While we don't see Daryl in this scene, we do see his nemesis Dwight (Austin Amelio), who is riding Daryl's motorcycle and is even wearing his iconic vest, which the character is rarely seen without. Naturally, there could be a perfectly good explanation as to why Dwight is wearing Daryl's vest and riding his motorcycle that doesn't involve his death, but we'll have to wait and see.
Some have theorized that Lauren Cohan's recent Instagram photos from New York City and other locations could mean Maggie is the victim, since they were taken while production was under way in Atlanta. There have been rumors that she hasn't been seen on set since the end of the third episode. Her on-screen husband Steven Yeun also hasn't been seen on the set recently, with the actor filming a new movie entitled Okja for director Bong Joon-ho. Norman Reedus also revealed in an interview a few weeks ago that shooting Season 7 has been "no fun" and "exhausting," but the premiere will be worth the wait for fans. While he wouldn't reveal who the victim is, he did state that this death affects every other character on the show.
Season 7 will also introduce fans to King Ezekiel, his tiger Shiva and other members of his survivor colony, The Kingdom. Along with Ezekiel and the tiger Shiva, this new season of The Walking Dead will also introduce two characters who don't appear to have roots in the comics. Naomi is said to be a "grandmotherly type who, having lost so many loved ones, is now willing to do whatever it takes not to have to bury any more," while Jennie is described as "a sunny-side-up kinda teenager." Both of these characters will be introduced in Episode 7, but we don't know if they're part of The Kingdom or not. Stay tuned for more on Season 7 of The Walking Dead as we get closer to the season premiere on October 23. In the meantime, check out these brief previews that feature some beloved moments from previous seasons for all of Negan's possible victims.
