Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln and the cast of The Walking Dead got very silly for Red Nose Day last night on NBC. And it's something fans are going to want to watch right now! The Red Nose Day special brought a number of familiar Walking Dead faces in to join the fun, including Steven Yeun, Sonequa Martin-Green and Josh McDermitt. The gang spoofs the classic Star Wars Holiday Special with their own Walking Dead Red Nose Day special. And it's as goofy and off the wall as one might expect.

After shutting gofer McDermitt out of their little milkshake party behind the set of The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln discovers he's left work with something red on his face. It turns out to be quite a bit of blood. Just the sight of this sticky liquid sends him into a quiet depression. And he expresses his desires for something lighter to brighten his day. That's when Norman Reedus suggests they do something to bring some fun into this dire world they are surrounded by on a constant basis. And alas, The Walking Dead Red Nose Day Special is born.

The Walking Dead cast is joined by a cavalcade of special guest stars, including the return of Meryl's knife hand, to recreate the opening title sequence of the long-lost 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. And it definitely, as Reedus states, brings a bit of "sweetness and light into the world." It's so much fun, you'll be wishing the full 90-minute special was a real thing.

Highlights include Sonequa Martin-Green and the High Impact, Low-Key Charitable Boogie Down Dancers. If you've ever dreamed of seeing Sasha get down in a silver 70s style jump suit, here's your chance. We're promised a 16-minute Melissa McBride drum solo. Also appearing in this 'Special" are Chris Hardwick and Dax Shepard sharing the role of Han Solo. Jeff Goldblum and Yvette Nicole Brown are introduced as Daryl's extended family. And Steven Yeun shows up with a rotting ventriloquist dummy named Edmond Rottington the 3rd.

The best part of this 'Special' is getting to see some of The Walking Dead cast out of character, such as Christian Serratos playing her Rosita Espinosa as a wild Latina stand-up comic, and David Morrissey's one-eyed Governor dressed as an Elvis impersonator. We're even promised music by Cold Play and an animated Walking Dead story from Robot Chicken. Ultimately, at the end of the day, Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln decided the 'Special' might be a bad idea and veto the project.

The second annual Red Nose Day raised more than $31.5 million in the U.S. The movement helps children in need both at home and in some of the poorest communities around the world. Craig Ferguson hosted this latest Broadcast. Other special guests of the night included Jay Leno, Jack Black, Key and Peele and Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie. Though, without question, The Walking Dead Red Nose Day special was the best thing to come out of their combined efforts last night.
