There's already a lot of questions pertaining to Season 8 of The Walking Dead, but could the recently announced crossover with Fear the Walking Dead happen this season as well? It's already a time of all-out war for The Walking Dead and many fans are wondering if this could be the final season that we see Negan, which is a heavy prospect and has led to some fans going down a less dark path to wonder aloud if the crossover could happen this season as well.

All that is known about the crossover between the two hit AMC shows is that it is on the horizon. There really has not been any other official information given about which character it will be or when it will happen, but it hasn't stopped fans from speculating about the who, the what, and the where of the upcoming crossover between The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. It should also be noted that it isn't clear which show the crossover will happen on, but many have their bets placed on Season 8 of The Walking Dead, but that just seems plain wrong considering the information that we have been given.

All fan theories surrounding around any Fear the Walking Dead characters joining up with The Walking Dead, even Qaletaqa Walker as Beta, are made more unlikely when one fact is taken into consideration: The time jump teased in the Walking Dead Season 8 trailer will see Rick and the Alexandria community at least two years in the future, if not more. Fear the Walking Dead is already a few years behind The Walking Dead before the time jump. Madison, Alicia, and Qaletaqa would be required to show more age than the actors would be wearing by the time of filming, but stranger things have happened.

Crossing over a character from The Walking Dead to Fear the Walking Dead would offer a unique storytelling opportunity that would allow AMC to flesh out a main character that fans have been wondering about. What was Abraham up to before he joined up with Rick's group? Did the Governor cross paths with Madison and her clan before settling into Woodbury? And then there's the mysterious Jadis, who we basically know nothing about. This seems to me like the most logical choice, especially since a The Walking Dead character would probably give Fear the Walking Dead a bit of a much-needed boost in ratings.

It's important to note that this is all pure speculation at this point and nothing has been officially announced as of this writing. But, it seems highly unlikely that we will see the crossover happen during Season 8 of The Walking Dead or the show at all, unless it's after the war with Negan. The timeline just makes more sense for it to fall under Fear the Walking Dead, which would also be win-win for the network to provide a ratings boost for the spin-off show that isn't doing quite as well as the original. Regardless, we're still in for one hell of a ride in Season 8 of The Walking Dead, which could see some major changes to the hit show. For more information, head over to AMC.com.
