Netflix has released a teaser for the highly anticipated season 2 of The Umbrella Academy. The official full-length trailer will drop tomorrow, May 28th. The teaser uses pneumatic message container used by the Commission in the hit series and so far, it's doing its job. Fans have been pleading with the social media account to unleash the first footage, with the official account responding with cryptic and humorous teases. The good news is fans are now less than 24 hours away from seeing the first footage from season 2.

Netflix announced that The Umbrella Academy season 2 will premiere July 31st earlier this month with an entertaining promo. The clip shows the main cast dancing to Tiffany's hit from the 1980s, "I Think We're Alone Now." As for what the trailer will show, that's a mystery at this time, but fans are more than likely hoping for a lot more than some humorous dancing, which will surely be delivered, though some dancing could be a part of it.

The Umbrella Academy is based on the comic book series by My Chemical Romance front man Gerard Way with illustrations by Gabriel Bá. In a recent interview, Way explained how he tried to prepare the writers for what's coming up in the series, even though they haven't gotten there yet. He says, "What I did for Steve Blackman (the showrunner) and the writers in that first writers' room was to create an eighteen-page document that laid everything out.

He went on to state, "I gave them the blueprint what happens because you do want to seed certain things in there for future series, and the hope is that it's a success so that you do a lot more of these." This certainly sounds a lot better than the napkin George R.R. Martin gave to Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Readers of the original comic series have been satisfied with what Netflix has been able to pull off with The Umbrella Academy. Taking something from the page and bringing it to the screen is never easy, especially with comics when there is already a visual tied to the characters. However, the extended format of a full series usually ends up making for a better experience when compared to a single movie.

The Umbrella Academy season 2 will feature some pretty big changes, according to producer Jeff Russo. "Well, there's definitely a big change in setting, that's for sure," he said. "And we tried not to change too much the approach of how to tell the story musically." Thankfully, season 2 will continue the big musical thread with even more great songs, promises Russo. Hopefully we get to see a hint of that in the upcoming trailer. In the meantime, you can check out the teaser above, thanks to the official Umbrella Academy Twitter account.
