Ever since Syfy announced their Tremors TV series, which brings back Kevin Bacon as Valentine McKee, fans have been wondering if another star from the original movie will return, Michael Gross. With production on the series currently under way, it seems that won't be happening, with Michael Gross taking to social media to confirm that he will not return as Burt Gummer in the TV show, and Kevin Bacon's Valentine McKee will not appear in the continuing movie series, starring Gross as Gummer. Here's what he had to say below.

"This is a story from June, 2017, but for Tremors fans who have been asking, 'Will Kevin Bacon return to do the films?' or 'Is your Burt Gummer character going to be in Kevin's series?' I think we can say with a good deal of certainty that the answer to both questions is 'no.' The series is currently shooting in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I have no other details. #tremorsfilm #tremors #burtgummer #film #horror #creaturefeatures."

After months of development, Syfy picked up Tremors in late June. Kevin Bacon stated in an interview last June that the show would be a 10-episode mini-series, although Syfy has not confirmed the exact episode count at this time. There has been no indication either if the show will address any events in the Tremors movies, which have all starred Michael Gross as Burt Gummer, with the latest installment, Tremors 6, shooting in South Africa this summer, for a 2018 release. The TV series is set in present day, but whether or not it will overlap with the movie sequels remains to be seen.

Tremors will take fans of the acclaimed 1990 film back to Perfection, Nev., where, 25 years after Valentine McKee, played by Kevin Bacon, defeated the Graboids, the man who once seemed destined for greatness is anything but. He's a small-town hero whose glory days faded away with the monsters he braved and whose family moved on when he couldn't let go of the past. And yet McKee's hoping that everything's about to change. His grown daughter coming to visit on the heels of her graduation could signal a permanent homecoming. But no sooner than she arrives, strange and terrifying events make it clear the town is in danger. Led by McKee, the gang from Perfection begins to uncover the spine-chilling truth of what's hunting them. With the future looking darker than ever, these small-town heroes must shake off the dust of years to see what they're made of.

Kevin Bacon will lead a cast that also includes John Ellison Conlee as Harlan Maylor, Valentine McKee's best friend whose obsession with the Graboids has taken a harsh toll on his life. P.J. Byrne has come aboard to play Melvin, who survived the original Graboid attack and went on to become a real estate developer. The cast is rounded out by Hunter Parrish, Ebonee Noel, Brandon Jay McLaren and Haley Tju, with Emily Tremaine playing Valentine's daughter. The news about Burt Gummer came straight from Michael Gross' Facebook, so it seems that will be the final word on Burt Gummer appearing in the Tremors TV series.
