Heads up, Transformers fans as Beast Wars may be getting ready to make a comeback. Netflix is gearing up for the Transformers: War for Cybertron trilogy, which kicks off at the end of this month with Siege. Details remain tightly under wraps for the next two installments, but the company has seemingly teased that the beloved spin-off series will be part of the third chapter.

Netflix, posting on its official NX Twitter account, which is home to the company's "home of all things geek," recently shared a brief teaser, as well as the title for the third entry in the trilogy; Kingdom. That, in itself, isn't terribly revealing. What is revealing, however, was the decision for the message to utilize an ape and dinosaur emoji. Coupled with the video's caption, it is easy to make the leap to Beast Wars. The caption reads as follows.

"Did you crack the code? We're excited to reveal the title for the third chapter: Kingdom. Get ready to go ape and get your claws out for Kingdom! Till then, the war continues."

For those who may not be familiar, Beast Wars: Transformers was an animated Transformers spin-off that ran for three seasons from 1996 to 1999. It includes characters such as Cheetor, Optimus Primal and Rhinox. The show takes place in the same universe as the original 1980s animated series. The plot, generally speaking, sees the Maximals and Predacons, descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons, at odds with one another. At first glance, the show takes place in the distant future, but the big twist is that it is set in the distant past on prehistoric Earth. Even though the series concluded its run more than 20 years ago, it remains a popular part of the franchise's long history.

Siege will pick up during the final hours of the civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The war that has ravaged their home planet Cybertron, which is at a tipping point. Optimus Prime and Megatron both want to save their world and unify their people, but on their own terms. The second chapter will be titled Earthrise. The voice cast includes Jake Foushee (Optimus Prime), Jason Marnocha (Megatron), Linsay Rousseau (Elita-1), Joe Zieja (Bumblebee), Frank Todaro (Starscream), Rafael Goldstein (Ratchet), Keith Silverstein (Jetfire), Todd Haberkorn (Shockwave, Red Alert), Edward Bosco (Ultra Magnus, Soundwave), Bill Rogers (Wheeljack), Sophia Isabella (Arcee), Brook Chalmers (Impactor), Shawn Hawkins (Mirage), Kaiser Johnson (Ironhide), Miles Luna (Teletraan I, Cliffjumper) and Mark Whitten (Sideswipe, Skywarp).

Bringing Beast Wars back into the fold in this way would seem to make sense, in terms of synergy with the brand. We learned earlier this year that Paramount Pictures and Hasbro are looking toward the future of the live-action Transformers franchise, with James Vanderbilt tapped to write a movie based on the animated series. The Transformers: War for Cybertron trilogy kicks off with Siege on July 30, which will consist of six episodes. Be sure to check out the announcement for Kingdom from Netflix's NX Twitter account.
