Mark Hamill is Geralt's mentor Vesemir in some awesome new fan art images, and Hamill himself says he's still game to play the character on Netflix original series The Witcher. In the fan art images, posted to Instagram by artists BossLogic and spdrmnkyxxiii, Hamill shines as Vesemir and it's clear from both photos that the Star Wars star would be fantastic in the role. Of course, you can decide that for yourself by checking out the new fan art photo below.

The popular concept of Hamill playing Vesemir dates back to last year when a fan on Twitter proposed Hamill as Vesemir when the show was reported to enter development. At the time, Hamill joked that he "had no idea what this is or what it's about" but that the role of Vesemir should definitely be played by him, based on the character's description. Now that the first season has premiered without the inclusion of Vesemir, Hamill's comments about playing him have recently resurfaces, and fans seem to be even more excited than before about the legendary actor taking on the part of the beloved fan favorite character.

Mark Hamill himself has also provided an update of sorts on potentially playing Vesemir with a hilarious new tweet. In response to an image referring to Hamill's past comments about taking on the role, the actor revealed not much has changed and he's still up for the part. "I still have no idea what this is or what it's about, but I DO know they haven't ever asked me to play Vesemir... yet," Hamill writes, adding a hashtag suggesting those in charge call his agent to make this a reality. Of course, if Hamill is on board and the fans want it to happen, then why shouldn't it?

Premiering on Netflix just a matter of days ago, The Witcher has quickly become one of the most popular series on the streaming service heading into the new year. Based on the novel series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski and developed for television by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the show stars Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) in the lead role as Geralt of Rivia. Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, and MyAnna Buring also star. The role of Vesemir, who serves as Geralt's mentor, has not yet been cast, but the character is very likely to appear in the show's upcoming second season.

Whether Hamill plays ultimately plays Vesemir or not, fans of the actor can check him out now on the big screen. Hamill can be seen playing the role of Luke Skywalker one last time in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, now playing in theaters. Nobody will deny Hamill has always been amazing as Luke, but let's hope he'll next be heading to The Witcher now that he'll have some free time on his hands.
