Netflix has revealed first look images from their upcoming The Witcher TV show. Along with this first look at the cast, the streaming platform also revealed the series' logo along with new art and the teaser poster. If that wasn't enough, we're all about to get a lot more information about the highly anticipated series at San Diego Comic-Con, which is just three weeks away and coming up fast. The fantasy series is based on Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski's novels and the series of highly successful video games.

Henry Cavill's Geralt, Anya Cholatra's Yennefer, and Freya Allan's Ciri are all featured in the first look images of The Witcher. Each character gets two images, one showcasing their bodies with full costumes and another which is closeup of their faces. As for the poster, it's a lone image of Cavill staring out into the sea from an elevated point of view with only one sword on his back. Things are really starting to get rolling and Netflix is expected to unveil a lot more in the next few weeks.

The Witcher San Diego Comic-Con panel takes place at 2:15 PM on July 19th in Hall H. Moderated by accomplished actress and host and beloved sci-fi fan Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), the panel will include cast members Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan alongside showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Hopefully some footage of the show will be unveiled and then released online for the folks not lucky enough to attend the panel in person.

The Witcher is based on the best-selling fantasy series of books and is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Henry Cavill leads the cast of The Witcher saga, playing the role of Geralt of Rivia, alongside other main cast members, Anya Chalotra (Wanderlust) as Yennefer and Freya Allan (The War of the Worlds) as Ciri. Other previously announced cast members include Jodhi May (Game of Thrones) as Calanthe, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson (Fortitude) as Eist, Adam Levy (Knightfall) as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina, and Emma Appleton as Renfri. Additionally, Eamon Farren is Cahir, Joey Batey is Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen is Stregobor, Royce Pierreson is Istredd, Maciej Musial is Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte is Dara, and Anna Shaffer is Triss.

There currently is no official release date set for Netflix's The Witcher. However, many are hoping the streaming platform will make that announcement during the Comic-Con panel. While there is no release date set, it is believed the series will premiere some time in 2019.
