/supernatural-will-continue-indefinitely-as-long-as-ratings-hold/Last Friday, we reported that the CW's hit horror drama Supernatural would continue beyond /shows/supernatural/season nine. During an interview with IGN, CW president Mark Pedowitz discussed the potential spin-off series that could come to fruition soon.

Here he confirms that a spin-off is in the works.

"Yes, very much so. It's set in Chicago. Hunters, monsters... The script just came in."

He went on to talk about who we would possibly see in the series.

"In the spinoff episode, they'd be in it. Whether they're in the series... For me, for spinoffs to work, you have to stand them on their own two legs, so you can only do those crossovers when the time is right, like we did with The Originals. We didn't see Michael Trevino's character, Tyler, until the seventh or eighth episode. By that time, the show was standing up on its own two legs.

Executive producer Jeremy Carver also spoke on the subject during an interview with EW. Here is what he said.

"We've created a world that feels like the Supernatural world yet has so much more story to be told that doesn't trample on the mother ship's terrain. You've got two shows that are going to be able to exist in total harmony, I think."

Supernatural airs Tuesday at 9/8c on the CW.
