Can you believe we are 9 seasons into The Walking Dead already? If you haven't been here since the beginning you've got plenty of binge watching to do. So many things have happened over the course of the massively popular show, but one thing we have not seen in any of the episodes over the long 9 year run is winter weather. It's something that may seem simple to the viewer, I mean the original comic book writer has certainly animated winter scenes in the comic, but apparently it costs a boatload of money to make it snow in Hollywood (or in this case Atlanta, where the show is actually shot). The author of the comics, Robert Kirkman puts it this way: Budgetary restraints.

There are only 3 episodes left for this season of The Walking Dead and over at IMDB the plot synopsis has hinted that a cold front is on the way, and it may be bringing snow, heavy snow. There is an old saying, "there is always a calm before the storm". So aptly enough right before the grand finale of season 9 we have an episode entitled "The Calm Before" slated to air March 24, where the community comes together to celebrate at the fair. Here is the synopsis from IMDB about the upcoming episode.

The fair at the Kingdom is underway, with all four communities coming together in celebration for the first time in years, while some pacts are renewed, other deals will come at a much steeper price.

The real drama of the show lies in the tenuous ties that bind the characters together, not the zombies, but hey who doesn't love to watch a zombie getting his head bashed in, or blown off? We already know about some of the pacts that are being renewed, but the deals that come at a "much steeper price"? The DRAMA!!! We have no idea as of now what those deals entail, but I am sure the writers of the show have some interesting twists in store for us. I can't wait to watch.

In a true sense of suspense which the show sells quite well, The Calm Before insinuates that in the following episode, the season finale, all hell will break loose. The final episode of the season is called "The Storm". From the brief synopsis, it sounds INTENSE. The episode is slated to come out on March 31st, so get your popcorn ready. Here is the synopsis as it appears on IMDB.

In the aftermath of an overwhelming loss, the communities must brave a ferocious blizzard; as one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision.

"Ferocious Blizzard"? Awwww Yeah.... that's something we have never, ever seen in Nine seasons of the zombie drama. I am sure the writers were dying to put something like snow, or a huge blizzard in as far back as season one, but their budget would not allow such extravagant effects. Now that the show is big hit, and has been pulling in big bucks, we all get to see some mayhem in the form of a winter weather blast.
