The Walking Dead season 10 poster puts the focus on some fan-favorite characters. The key art for the series in the past has typically featured Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes. However, the character is no longer on the show as of last season, so we're seeing Norman Reedus' Daryl, Melissa McBride's Carol, and Danai Gurira's Michonne take over and it looks like they mean business. A lot of characters from the hit AMC show have come and gone over the past nine installments and now fans are going to be bidding farewell to Gurira's Michonne during the highly anticipated season 10.

In addition to Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, and Melissa McBride, The Walking Dead also stars Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Xander Berkeley, Khary Payton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Thora Birch and Kevin Carroll have joined the cast for season 10. So far, it looks like the season is going to be taken over by Alpha and her Whisperers, which is more than likely who Michonne, Daryl, and Carol are taking on in the season 10 key art.

Michonne, Daryl, and Carol are the remaining central characters on The Walking Dead. With Danai Gurira taking off after this season, the focus will more than likely shift to Daryl and Carol, which is definitely a good thing. Those two are both fan-favorite characters whose relationship has made the hit AMC show even stronger. As showrunner Angela Kang promised, we will be getting a lot of Michonne in season 10 and her story arc will lend some considerable weight to the upcoming season.

Danai Gurira has seen her career really take off over the past few years. Her appearances on The Walking Dead and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have heightened her profile considerably. As for why she's leaving the hit AMC show, she is showrunning a new series for HBO Max, WarnerMedia's upcoming streaming service. The show is called Americanah and it is based on the best-selling book by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, which tells the story of a woman who leaves Nigeria for America. While fans will certainly be bummed to see her go, she will be taking on some pretty big projects in the future, including a return to the MCU in Black Panther 2.

The Walking Dead season 10 premieres Sunday, October 6th on AMC. With the simple, yet bold key art and a new trailer, fans should be pretty well-prepared for what the upcoming season is going to bring. With that being said, it looks like things are going to get pretty crazy when all is said and done.
