Cancel your New Year's plans, everyone. SyFy has revealed the schedule for their upcoming marathon of The Twilight Zone, which takes place (mostly) on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. So those who adore classic sci-fi can close out 2018 and ring in 2019 in style. This year's marathon is loaded top to bottom with entries from the beloved series and could make a strong argument for staying in this year.

This year's marathon kicks off on December 30 with the episode Static, which was the 20th episode of the show's second season during its original run and features a man with a mysterious old radio that seems to only pick up old radio shows. The event then runs all day on New Year's Eve, starting with the episode Long Distance Call. The first episode viewers can enjoy right at midnight on January 1, 2019, is The Changing of the Guard, which aired as part of the show's third season and sees a teacher being asked to end his career.

SyFy has helped to keep the show's memory alive over the years with these marathons. They usually occur on New Year's and the Fourth of July. For those who don't want to scoop them all up on DVD, or for those who simply like the fun to be a bit more random, this is really the way to go.

The Twilight Zone originally aired on CBS from 1959 to 1964. The show was created and hosted by Rod Serling and is considered to be one of the best TV shows ever made. There have been several attempts at revivals in the past, most recently for just one season that aired from 2002 to 2003. Though unsuccessful, it shows that the series has managed to endure within the pop culture landscape. Lucky for us, we have more than just this marathon to look forward to in the near future.

CBS All Access is currently working on a new revival with Get Out director Jordan Peele who, in addition to serving as an executive producer, will take on Rod Serling's old role as the show's new host. The revival of The Twilight Zone is set to air on the streaming service in 2019, but no release date has been firmed up just yet. This marathon should help to pass the time while we wait for that to arrive. Be sure to check out the full schedule for SyFy's Twilight Zone marathon below.
