Peter Serafinowicz is often utilized as a secret weapon, appearing in some of your favorite movies on the stealth. But he's becoming more of a presence than every before. And starting this weekend, he actually takes the lead in Amazon's new superhero series The Tick. We recently caught up with the comedian, who is always a bright shining bit of sunlight wherever he decides to pop up.

It should come as no surprise that Peter Serafinowicz, who has appeared in such hit movies as SPY, Shaun of the Dead, and Guardians of the Galaxy, just to name a few, is a very busy man. He has two new movies this year, An Ordinary Man alongside Ben Kingsley, and Going In Style, opposite Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. But starting this Friday, he is fighting evil in a blue jumpsuit and antennas in Amazon's reimagining of the comic book superhero spoof The Tick!

The English comedic actor proudly plays the humble, blue avenger. Bursting with scabrous original storylines that turn on a dime, Amazon Prime Video's The Tick will hook anyone in this brooding-superhero-filled world who's up for a good laugh along the path to truth and justice. And you can stream it right now.

In a world where superheroes have flown among us for decades, an underdog accountant named Arthur (Griffin Newman) with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead ('The Terror', played by Jackie Earle Haley.) As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, Arthur falls in league with a strange blue superhero: The Tick (Serafinowicz). The title character offers fusillade of non-sequiturs and idealistic pronouncements in between superpower feats and spontaneous wiggles of his antennae. He serves as both the conscience and the unchecked id of the story. Citing the call of destiny, The Tick gives Arthur a super suit with retractable wings and insists that he suit up as his sidekick. He and Arthur are the ultimate odd couple, but may just bring out the best in each other.

Peter Serafinowicz just wrapped An Ordinary Man alongside Ben Kingsley. Peter was last seen on the big screen in SPY opposite Melissa McCarthy. His other credits include Couples Retreat, the role of 'Pete' in Shaun of the Dead and 'Garth Seal' in Guardians of the Galaxy. Peter also provided the voice of Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and has provided voices for South Park

In our exclusive interview with Peter, we chat about all things The Tick. We also talk about the power of Machadaynu, and how the original Tick had one of the most frightening toys ever created. And what it was like to climb into the suit. Peter is a master of the absurd, selling it home with an authenticity and uniqueness that is all his own. And we end our journey with a bit of insight into our current social climate, and that God, if he does exist, must be extremely drunk. Check out the video below and join in on the fun, then head over to Amazon and watch the series for yourself.
