Apple TV+ has revealed a new trailer for The Snoopy Show. The teaser was released in celebration of the milestone 70th anniversary of the first Peanuts comic strip ever published. Charles Shulz brought Charlie Brown and the gang to life in 1950 and the characters have endured in pop culture ever since. Now, Apple is bringing Snoopy and the rest of Shulz's creations to the world of streaming for this brand new animated series.

The trailer begins with Charlie Brown trying to teach an adorable, tiny Snoopy a few simple commands. Things normal dogs do like sit and shake. But Snoopy is no normal dog and he does not obey these commands in the usual way. We see the black and white beagle going far beyond these basic instructions as he flies, climbs, dances, bakes and more as he goes on various adventures with Woodstock. Charlie laments not having a normal dog, though the pooch he has proves to be a major source of entertainment that is full of surprises. This appears to be a faithful take on the Peanuts, but one that also has a very modern sensibility and feel to it.

The Snoopy Show is a new animated series aimed at kids and families. It stars the internationally beloved beagle and his best friend, the bird named Woodstock, who will tackle all-new adventures together. Even though Snoopy may seem like a happy-dancin', bone-lovin', doghouse-sittin' pup, but he's much more than that. He's Joe Cool, the hippest kid in school. He's also a surfer king and famous arm-wrestler Masked Marvel. He's World War I Flying Ace who battles the Red Baron. All of his various personas will be on display.

Each episode of the series will consist of three, seven-minute cartoons based on the classic comic strip. Classic characters such as Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Franklin, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty and more will appear. This isn't the first show Apple has produced based on the Peanuts. It will be joining the Daytime Emmy winner, Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10, as well as Snoopy in Space, which are both currently streaming on Apple TV+.

The Peanuts are no stranger to adaptations. The characters have appeared in several holiday specials that have gone on to become classics such as A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Several movies have been produced over the years as well, starting with 1969's A Boy Named Charlie Brown. Most recently, we got 2015's CGI animated The Peanuts Movie. But this will bring Snoopy and Charlie back to the small screen, where they have been before, perhaps most notably in The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show.

Apple TV+ launched last year to get the company in the streaming game, competing with the likes of Netflix, Amazon and Disney. The services $4.99 per month. The Snoopy Show will make its global debut February 5, 2021, exclusively on Apple TV+ Be sure to check out the new trailer from the Apple TV YouTube channel.
