We finally have our first look at The Simpsons taking on the world of Stranger Things. Fox announced the spoof for the Treehouse of Horror XXX episode over the summer with a poster. However, we now have a better look at how Springfield is going to morph into Hawkins. It just so happens that this year's annual event with be the long-running show's 666th episode, adding in an extra creepy element for horror fans.

In the Treehouse of Horror episode, Lisa is taking over for Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven and is sporting the shaved head look with a bloody nose. Bart is Finn Wolfhard's Mike, Nelson is Gaten Matarazzo's Dustin, and Martin is Caleb McLaughlin's Lucas. Clancy Wiggum sticks to his chief status as David Harbour's Jim Hopper. The portion of the episode is entitled Danger Things and is set in a Springfield full of product-placement in the '80s. Milhouse (as Will Byers) is dragged into The Over Under dimension, where Lisa (as Eleven) is sent to rescue him. The Starcourt Mall will also be shown.

Netflix's Stranger Things has had a major presence on Halloween since the series first debuted in July 2016. Fans were happy to learn that the show has just been green lit for a fourth season and are curious to see what happened to David Harbour's Jim Hopper. In other words, it was only a matter of time before The Simpsons put the show in its crosshairs. From the looks of things, they did an excellent job turning the world of Springfield into Hawkins.

In addition to the Stranger Things spoof, the 30th Treehouse of Horror also features a demon Maggie, dead-Homer's spirit trying on some new bodies for size, and Selma finally finding love in an unlikely place, which is the alien in the basement. Selma's story looks a lot like Guillermo del Toro's Academy Award winning The Shape of Water, while the Maggie demon storyline is a mashup parody of The Omen and The Exorcist. It's hard to believe The Simpsons have been doing the Treehouse of Horror episodes for 30 years now.

The Simpsons will premiere the 666th episode, aka Treehouse of Horror XXX on Sunday, October 20th. Since we just received images from the episode, a trailer can't be too far behind. Tackling Stranger Things, The Omen, The Exorcist, and The Shape of Water seems like a pretty lofty goal, but if anyone can pull it off, it's The Simpsons. Though many will argue that the long-running series hasn't been all that great over the past several seasons, the Treehouse of Horror episodes are always pretty on point and something that a lot of horror fans look forward to every year.
