Fox is getting ready to launch the 30th season of The Simpsons and to celebrate, they have released a teaser trailer for their annual Treehouse of Horror show and announced the premiere date. The news was announced at San Diego Comic-Con this afternoon with creator Matt Groening, voice actress Tress MacNeille, director David Silverman, and producer Al Jean on-hand to reveal some information about the 30th season. In addition to the new Treehouse of Horror XXIX teaser, they also screened a clip from an upcoming episode where Homer goes to New Orleans, eats too much and has to visit a vomitorium.

Unfortunately, the vomitorium clip from the 30th season of The Simpsons, which returns on September 30th, is not available online. However, Fox did release the Treehouse of Horror XXIX teaser online, and it's pretty a pretty awesome tribute (or rip off as Comic Book Guys says) to Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The teaser starts with some spores landing on Springfield from outer space as Carl and Lenny are attacked. Fitting in with this weekend, Comic Book Guy also gets attacked.

In addition to Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXIX will also feature a spoof of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. As with all of the annual Halloween-themed episodes, this one looks particularly crazy. The long-running cast of Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright, Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer are all back to voice some of the most iconic characters to ever hit TV. As previously noted, the show will premiere on Sunday, September 30th.

The Simpsons panel at San Diego Comic-Con also revealed that there will be some more celebrity guests for the 30th season. Guests named at the panel included Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, Patti Lupone, Emily Deschanel, Jon Lovitz, Guillermo del Toro, and Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos. Sarandos is more than likely on the show as a tip of the hat to Matt Groening's new Netflix series, Disenchanted. In addition, it was revealed that one of the couch gags for the 30th season of The Simpsons will include a spoof on fellow Fox animated series, Bob's Burgers.

It was made official in April of this year that The Simpsons is the longest-running scripted primetime show in television history. The animated show beat out Gunsmoke, which ran from 1955 to 1975 with 635 episodes. The worldwide phenomenon started on Fox back in 1989 and was a part of the Tracy Ullman Show before that in 1987 as a cartoon short. Since then, The Simpsons has gone on to make a feature-length movie, an area in Universal Studios dedicated to it, and all types of different merchandise sold throughout the years. Though many believe that the show has gone down in quality over the years, it's still a highly rated show.
