Fans of The Simpsons with some extra cash to burn may want to open up those wallets, as 20th Century Fox has revealed a brand new, limited edition box set aimed at hardcore fans of the animated series. The Simpsons: The Complete Seasons 1-20 Limited Edition box set will contain every single episode from the first 20 seasons of the show. The catch? Those interested need to act fast, as only 1,000 of them are being released.

It's also worth pointing out that The Simpsons box set will be on DVD, not Blu-ray. So those who are interested in HD versions of the episodes may need to turn elsewhere. It's also important to note the price, which is currently set at $549.99 and is available to pre-order through Amazon and Best Buy. Fox released the following description of the set.

"Journey to Springfield to witness the adventures of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie from their humble and heartwarming beginnings in 'Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire' and through all of the wild adventures of their first twenty seasons, featuring iconic episodes such as 'Marge vs. The Monorail,' 'Bart the General,' 'You Only Move Twice' and the legendary two-parter, 'Who Shot Mr. Burns?' The beloved series won 34 Emmys and introduced the world to several celebrated guest appearances by fan favorites including Kelsey Grammer as the criminal mastermind, Sideshow Bob, Glenn Close who brilliantly played Homer's loving and sweet mother, Mona Simpson and Albert Brooks as the evil genius, Hank Scorpio."

Artwork for the box set has also been revealed, which features the clouds from the show's iconic opening credits, with various characters from throughout the show's run wrapped around it. The box contains 441 episodes across 79 discs. Though, this is far from a complete run of The Simpsons, as the show is currently airing season 31. But for those who want the show during its best years in physical form, this may be the way to go. Assuming that price tag isn't a dealbreaker, anyway.

The Simpsons may not be as popular, or in the eyes of many nearly as good, as it once was. But few things can remain relevant in pop culture for three decades, and that's truly something. Created by Matt Groening, the show initially debuted in the early days of Fox in 1989 and has been going strong ever since. The show has been renewed already through season 32.

Another thing worth noting for potential buyers is Disney+. The streaming service, which launches next month, will be the new home of The Simpsons and will include every single episode of the series. So those who are planning to shell out $6.99 per month for Disney+ may find this box set to be a redundant and totally unnecessary expense. Those who are interested can pre-order the set now through BestBuy.com.
