Apple has released the first teaser trailer for The Morning Show. Yes, Apple, as in the prolific maker of computers and iPhones. Like everyone else who has money to spare and is trying to stay relevant in the modern age, Apple is getting into the streaming service business this fall with Apple TV+. The company has lined up a slate of original content from big-name creatives and this offers one of our first sizable looks at what they're going to bring to the table in an attempt to compete with Netflix.

This is very much just a tease of what's to come. We see a camera panning through the hallways of an otherwise empty news studio belonging to a news-based morning show. Voice over is provided by the show's stars, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon. Things sound tense and the whole thing has a very serious intensity to it. Considering the lighthearted nature of many TV morning shows, it's going against the grain in that way.

Much like Disney is doing with Disney+, Apple is looking to take on Netflix at its own streaming game. Back in March, Apple held a big, splashy event, revealing Apple TV+. A price point has yet to be revealed, but they have some heavy-hitting creatives working with them, including Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams and Oprah Winfrey. Apple describes its new service as follows.

"Introducing Apple TV+, a new streaming service where the most creative minds in TV and film tell the kinds of stories only they can. Featuring original shows and movies across every genre, Apple TV+ is coming this fall. Exclusively on the Apple TV app."

For consumers, this will offer yet another choice in an already crowded marketplace that currently contains Hulu, Netflix and boutique services like Shudder, DC Universe and The Criterion Collection. In addition to Disney+, WarnerMedia recently announced HBO Max, which is expected to launch in early 2020, and Comcast has an NBC-branded service also set to launch next year. Consumers are possibly going to have to shell out a lot of money to watch all of the content spread across these various services.

While no full synopsis has been revealed, The Morning Show is said to focus on the "lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning." The show was created by Michael Ellenberg and directed by Mimi Leder. Kerry Ehrin wrote the series and serves a showrunner. Billy Crudup (Alien: Covenant) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (A Wrinkle in Time) also star.

This show, in particular, is notable as it represents the return of both Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell to the small screen. Aniston became a star on Friends and Carell previously starred on The Office. Apple didn't reveal a specific premiere date but The Morning Show is set to debut this fall.
