As many of you know by this point in time, The CW's hit horror series Supernatural is going to be coming to an end following its upcoming 15th season. But no worries as the teen-centric network has a new horror show for all of us to check out on the horizon: a reboot of the classic '80's vampire movie The Lost Boys starring Tyler Posey and Kiele Sanchez. And today we have the show's logo for you to check out. You can give it a look-see below but let me describe it a bit all the same. It appears that this logo came from the cover of the pilot script and it looks quite a bit like, you know, the logo of the original film, but with one noticeable difference. This logo has an ominous drop of blood falling off the T in "Lost." Meh. It'll do until we have something more substantial to go on in regards to this show's approach to the material.
And speaking of the source material, this show is a reboot of Batman & Robin and The Phantom of the Opera director Joel Schumacher's 1987 film of the same name. That version starred Jason Patric as Michael Emerson, Corey Haim as Sam Emerson, Dianne Wiest as Lucy Emerson, Kiefer Sutherland as David Powers, Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog, Jamison Newlander as Alan Frog, Jami Gertz as Star, Ed Herrmann as Max, and Barnard Hughes and as Grandpa. Bill and Ted actor Alex Winter joined them as Marko Davies, and the unforgettable Tim Cappello played that "sexy" Saxophone Player. You know the one.
The CW's version has gathered up a pretty killer cast itself with Tyler Posey as new Michael Emerson along with Kiele Sanchez as Lucy Emerson, and Rio Mangini as Sam Emerson. Del Zamora will play the role of Frank Garcia, Lucy's father, and Michael and Sam's grandfather. Dakota Shapiro will join them as David, Sarah Hay as Mollie, Medalion Rahimi as Stella, and Jerry Trimble as Justin. Oh, and let's not forget the show's gender-swap of Haley Tju and Cheyenne Haynes taking over as Cassie and Liza Frog aka The Frog Sisters, played in the original film by the above-mentioned Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander.
This new version of The Lost Boys will follow the plot of the original film pretty closely. It takes place in the sunny seaside town of Santa Carla, which is the home to a beautiful boardwalk, all the cotton candy you can eat - and a secret underworld of vampires. After the sudden death of their father, two brothers (Tyler Posey and Rio Mangini) move to Santa Carla with their mother (Kiele Sanchez), who hopes to start anew in the town where she grew up. But Michael and Sam find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the seductive world of Santa Carla's eternally beautiful and youthful undead.
Twilight and Lords of Dogtown director Catherine Hardwicke helms the pilot episode of The CW's The Lost Boys from a script by Heather Mitchell (Scandal, Grey's Anatomy). Mitchell will also serve as an executive producer on the series along with Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, Mike Karz, and Bill Bindley. Rebecca Franko is producing. Spoondoolie Productions and Gulfstream Television are the studios behind this new take, and they will be working in association with Warner Bros. Television. The show's logo was revealed over on Movie Hole.
