Netflix has released the first trailer for The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow. Each of the show's six episodes features "alternative health practitioners" discussing a different wellness topic. The show intends to guide the "deeply inquisitive viewer in an exploration of boundary-pushing wellness topics," including: psychedelics, cold therapy, female pleasure, anti-aging, energy healing, and psychics. Gwyneth Paltrow is the founder and CEO of Goop and she hosts the show with Goop Chief Content Officer Elise Loehnen.

The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow trailer teases each of the Netflix show's six episodes and finds Gwyneth Paltrow claiming, "we're here one time, one life, how can we really milk the sh*t out of this?" Paltrow and Goop are trying to make the world a better place and the show, like the brand, is featuring some of their unorthodox ways of doing so. The trailer teases the female orgasm episode, psychics, and then some footage of psychedelic drugs.

In addition to The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow trailer, Netflix also released the first promotional art for the series, which features a smiling Gwyneth Paltrow in what appears to be the female genitalia. The art has already caused quite the stir on social media. Goop has been in the wellness game for a while, though many have likened it to a scam. The company recently had to settle with the Orange County D.A.'s office over "misleading claims regarding jade and quartz eggs intended for vaginal health." The company, which is estimated to be worth over $250 million, shelled out $145,000 to make the case go away. So, seeing Paltrow in something that resembles a vagina, isn't going over too well on social media.

Goop has also come under fire for making further unsubstantiated health claims. Some of their products include "energy stickers," a spray to protect individuals from "psychic and emotional harm," a $240 tank top, and an $80 water bottle with a quartz crystal in it, just to name a few. Goop has also been criticized for taking away from the naturally derived and non-chemical products and replacing that element with overpriced magic crystals and products which have not been scientifically proven to do anything. Plus, some of the products have done harm.

Regardless, The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow is coming to Netflix. It will be interesting to see how the show is received upon its release on January 24th. Gwyneth Paltrow has built an empire with Goop over the years and the show is just another example of that. The Goop Lab with Gwyneth Paltrow is produced by Paltrow, Elise Loehnen, Shauna Minoprio, Andrew Fried, and Dane Lillegard of Boardwalk Pictures.
