Our first look at The Flash season 7 has arrived. During a panel for the show at the digital DC FanDome event, the cast and crew shared the first trailer. The series is set to return on The CW in early 2021 and, as we can see from this first footage, Barry Allen will be getting into some action-packed adventures.

The initial episodes will be helping to resolve some storylines that were originally set to be part of season 6. showrunner Eric Wallace was on hand for the panel alongside stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Nicolet, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Kayla Compton and Brandon McKnight. Much of the footage contained within the trailer is just from one episode, which was meant to be the 20th episode of The Flash season 6. However, as Wallace stated during the panel, it is full of spoilery goods.

"Even though it's only footage really from one episode [620], pay attention to the way it's presented. It's actually huge spoilers all over the place."

The trailer is loaded down, especially considering it is mostly one episode doing the heavy lifting. Understandably so, Barry Allen is determined to save Iris. To do that, he is going to need to manufacture an artificial Speed Force. There is a lot of action, including an impending plane crash that threatens the city. Eric Wallace also explained during the DC FanDome panel that we should expect a twist early on in season 7.

"Because this is The Flash, there's a huge twist at the end of every season, and that twist is now kind of coming in the middle of the [start of the] season. And that has really affected our storytelling for all of Season 7."

Like many shows, The Flash was forced to shut down production in March. As such, season 6 was cut short. Those episodes will be repurposed as part of season 7. We were left with tons of threads at the unceremonious early end to last season. The team wasn't able to stop Eva Mirror Mistress from killing her husband. What's more, Sue Dearbon was framed for the heinous act. Meanwhile, Iris Singh and Kamilla are trapped in the Mirrorverse. This footage gives us a glimpse at how some of that is going to be resolved.

The show features Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Eric Wallace serve as executive producers. No episode count for the upcoming season has been revealed, the show may pass the 150 episode mark next year.

While no exact release date has been revealed, The Flash season 7 will return sometime in early 2021. Be sure to check out the new trailer for yourself. And be sure to keep with all of the DC FanDome happenings live over at the official DCFanDome.com website.
