It's been a pretty rough week for The Flash star Grant Gustin who had to speak out against social media bullies who were saying he was too thin to play the superhero on the hit CW series. A picture of Grant Gustin in the new suit for The Flash Season 5 leaked online with many stating that the actor was unnaturally skinny, which led to a heated message from Gustin about body shaming. Now, we have our first official look at the new suit, squashing the body shaming debate.

Grant Gustin revealed the first official look at Barry Allen's new threads for The Flash Season 5. Right away, DC fans have noticed that the suit is more like the version that the hero wears in the comics. It has a different cowl without a chinstrap and the material appears to be softer than the leather used before. In addition, the suit has a smaller emblem on the chest. This new official picture of the suit is pretty awesome and a far cry from the leaked photo from earlier in the week.

The Flash suit reveal also shows off coloring that is closer to the comic version of Barry Allen. This new suit was given to the hero by Nora Allen, his daughter from the future. In another nod to the comics, the new suit comes out of a ring, which was teased at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Nora appeared at the end of Season 4, and it's believed that she will be a pretty big part of the upcoming Season 5 when it premieres in October.

In this look at The Flash's new suit, Grant Gustin puts the emphasis on the word "official," which proves that the actor is still pretty bummed on the unflattering leaked photo from earlier in the week. The 28-year old actor revealed that he has been naturally skinny for his entire life and that people have been telling him to gain weight for at least 20 years. Gustin says that he does not appreciate strangers picking apart his body, which stresses him out and makes it difficult to eat, according to the actor.

The Flash returns to The CW on Tuesday, October 9th. Barry Allen's new costume sets up what is sure to be a very exciting Season 5 of the hit series. Jessica Parker Kennedy (Nora), Danielle Nicolet (Cecile), and Hartley Sawyer (Ralph) have all been promoted to series regulars for the upcoming season, while Chris Klein will portray The Flash's nemesis, Cicada. In addition to the new official look at the costume, Grant Gustin shared a bonus picture of himself in the suit, noting that he took the selfie after filming had wrapped for the day.
