The Flash Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger that left some very big questions on the table heading into next season. Most notably, there seemed to be a chance that Keiynan Lonsdale's Wally West, aka Kid Flash, would be taking over for Barry Allen next season. Not to worry, Grant Gustin fans, because it looks like that isn't going to happen. At least not yet.

Keiynan Lonsdale, who joined the show during The Flash season 2, recently spoke with Newsweek about playing Wally West and some of his other projects, like his music career. The prospect of him becoming the main Speedster on The Flash season 4 and trading in his yellow suit for a red one came up, but he was pretty quick to dismiss the idea. Here's what he had to say about it.

"It's not something that's on my radar. I feel as though there is so much story to tell and Wally has so much growing to do. I'd like to see that journey continue. That's what I think is important. We need to see how these character realistically get to where they are headed for."

Warning: spoilers ahead for the The Flash season 3. Some fans have speculated, and rightfully so, that Wally West may be headlining the show next season, given how things left off. Barry Allen was seen heading into the Speed Force to stabilize it. Before taking off, Barry assured everyone that Century City would still have a Speedster looking over them in the form of Kid Flash. So, it seemed like a logical assumption to make. But it sounds like Grant Gustin will make his way back as Barry Allen somehow. And since fans absolutely love him, why not? Keiynan Lonsdale assured Newsweek that this wasn't a spoiler, since he knows that spoilers can really rob fans of their enjoyment.

"I had a situation with a friend recently who spoiled a major thing for me and they didn't realize they did it. As much as I'm still going to watch the show and enjoy it, I didn't get to have that journey and the surprise and ups and downs and questions. It's like if sometime tells you your entire future for your life, suddenly you're not as invested in the moment."

The Flash season 4 is set to start production sometime next month and will premiere alongside the other Arrowverse shows this fall on The CW. This season will also see the premiere of Black Lightning, though, it has been said that the series won't crossover with shows like The Flash, but never say never. We'll be seeing Wally West back as one of the fastest things on the planet, but just don't expect Barry Allen to be MIA. We'll learn more when The Flash season 4 premieres on Tuesday, October 10 on The CW.
