Michelle Harrison has joined the growing cast of CW's The Flash pilot, portraying Nora Allen, the mother of Grant Gustin's Barry Allen.

The actress will have a guest starring role on the pilot episode, and she will have a recurring role if the network issues a series order. Other confirmed cast members include Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, who becomes a father figure to Barry, Candice Patton as West's daughter and Barry's love interest Iris, Danielle Panabaker as bioengineering expert Caitlin Snow, Rick Cosnett as Detective Eddie Thrawne, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Roman a.k.a. Vibe, Tom Cavanaugh as S.T.A.R. Labs founder Harrison Wells and the original Flash, John Wesley Shipp, in an unspecified role.

David Nutter is directing the pilot episode from a script by creators/executive producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns. It isn't known when production will begin on the pilot.

Michelle Harrison's previous credits include CW's Emily Owens M.D., and guest-starring appearances on shows such as Supernatural and Fringe.
