The Falcon and the Winter Soldier poster has arrived. Marvel Studios debuted the promotional art over the weekend at the D23 Expo, along with other posters for the Black Widow movie and the WandaVision Disney+ streaming series. While many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are hoping that Anthony Mackie will be taking on the role of Captain America after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the actor revealed it isn't that simple. Obviously, Marvel Studios doesn't really do what we expect, but what does this mean for the show?

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier poster features Sebastian Stan, sporting short hair, and Anthony Mackie, with a redesigned Captain America style suit. We can see some of the red and white patriotic suit from the comics, but as previously stated, it's unclear if he will be the Captain America version of The Falcon. Mackie repeated a few times during an interview over the weekend that he won't be the iconic character in the series, but would not explain any further. Whatever the case may be, there is something fishy going on.

Marvel Studios prides itself on giving fans the unexpected and they are professional at keeping their secrets under lock and key. While we don't know exactly what's going to happen in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series, we do know that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are extremely excited to get to work on the show. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was cryptic when talking about the upcoming show, so the Captain America elements will have to remain a mystery for now. However, Mackie was quoted as saying over the weekend, "I am the Falcon. I will always be the Falcon."

While we still don't know a whole lot about The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series, Kevin Feige did announce new members of the cast over the weekend. Emily VanCamp is back as Sharon Carter for the series and fans are curious to see where she will fit in. When asked where Carter has been all this time, VanCamp redirected the question to Feige, because she wanted to know too. The studio boss did not say, which is why we'll all have to tune in when the show debuts.

In addition to Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, and Emily VanCamp, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier also stars Daniel Bruhl as Zemo and Wyatt Russell as John Walker. No release date has been announced, but it is believed the show will land on Disney's upcoming streaming platform in fall 2020. Production on the series is expected to begin this fall, just like the WandaVision series. There's a lot of material for MCU fans to get excited about with Phase 4 on the big and small screens and one has to wonder how Marvel Studios is able to keep everything going all at once.
