The Conners will address the 2020 Presidential election in an episode that will air before November 3rd. The hit ABC sitcom rushed into production once they knew they'd be able to address the polarization of America in a timely matter. Additionally, it would not be the Conner family without some kind of Halloween special, and luckily we have one to look forward to this year. The Roseanne Halloween episodes were often the ones that fans looked forward to the most.

The Conners showrunner Bruce Helford held a virtual panel with the cast earlier today where he addressed questions from reporters. The 2020 Presidential election is on the minds of most of the country, and the show, even when it was Roseanne, never backed down from taking on politics and social issues. Helford had this to say about The Conners season 3.

"As far as the election and all that, we didn't know exactly what our airdates would be for a while, because everyone was trying to figure that out. But once we found out that we were going to be on the air on Oct. 28, we rushed into production to do an episode that discusses Halloween, for one thing, because Halloween won't be the same this year. So the Conners are going to find a way to make it right. And maybe it will give families a way to kind of figure out how to do it a little better at their own homes without being able to go out and trick-or-treat because of COVID... And we're going to be discussing the polarization in America and what's going on before the election. So we're going to be very much on top of all of it."

It's not clear how The Conners is going to save Halloween, but if anyone can do it, it's them. As for the polarization of America at the moment, that is a touchy subject. In addition to the season 3 information, the first season 3 trailer was released, showcasing the Conner family dealing with the public health crisis. "We're a show that reflects reality, so we're obligated [to address it]," exec producer Bruce Helford said. "I would think somebody in the family would be... taking jobs that put them at risk because they need the money, like most of blue collar America," which explains the return of Wellman Plastics.

With Wellman Plastics coming back into the picture, some fans are wondering if George Clooney will be taking part in season 3 of The Conners. However, that seems highly unlikely at the moment. Regardless, fans of the show should be more than happy to know that a Halloween episode is still going to take place, which gives some sense of normalcy for October.

Along with John Goodman as Dan Conner and Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, The Conners stars Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner-Healy, Michael Fishman as D.J. Conner, Emma Kenney as Harris Conner-Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy, Jayden Rey as Mary Conner, and Jay R. Ferguson as Ben.
