Tragedy has struck The Conners. It is being reported that a crew member died while on the set of the popular ABC sitcom. The unidentified male was a member of The Conners technical crew. The incident took place in Burbank, California were the sitcom is filmed. The crew member is said to have died from an unspecified medical event.

ABC is not releasing the name nor the age of the technical crew member who passed away on The Conners set. Werner Entertainment, who produces the Roseanne spinoff, released a statement to the press. They had this to say about the untimely and unexpected death that occurred during production of the show.

"He was a much loved member of The Conners and Roseanne families for over 25 years. As we remember our beloved colleague, we ask that you respect the privacy of his family and loved ones as they begin their grieving process."

TMZ initially reports that the person who passed away was working in the lightning department. He is believed to be in his 50s. The unidentified individual couldn't be revived by the Studio medical personnel on sight. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is further noted that quite a few members of the cast, crew and writing staff have been with the show in its two incarnations, working on set since the franchise first debuted way back in 1988 with Roseanne. The original series ran for 9 seasons. It was revived in 2018 with the entire original cast coming back for new episodes under the same title.

Roseanne Barr was fired from her namesake show a little over a year after it had been revived, for posting a tweet that was deemed racist. The show was rebranded as The Conners, with the entire cast, sans Roseanne, staying in place. The crew also stayed with the show through its various changes.

The Conners is currently in Season 3 with episodes now in production. The show came back during the pandemic, with the ongoing storyline centered around the complications that come with facing a virus in a low income household. The show airs Wednesdays at 9 pm. Production on the series will continue throughout the rest of Season 3.
