With the new year rapidly approaching, that means all of your favorite TV shows are getting closer to returning. Longtime fan favorite series Supernatural isn't slated to return until late January, but today we have the first photos from the Supernatural Season 12 mid-season premiere, airing Thursday, January 26 at 8 PM ET on The CW. We also have new details about this episode, which hasn't been given an official title yet, from executive producer Andrew Dabb.

This upcoming episode will send the Winchester Brothers all the way to the White House. The chase continues as Lucifer's search for power and influence in a vessel lands him in the White House. When the President of the United States (guest star David Chisum) unknowingly makes a deal with the devil, it leads Sam, Dean, Castiel, Crowley and Rowena to band together to fight the Dark Lord. TV Line caught up with executive producer Andrew Dabb.

"We're going to be building in about a six-week time jump. We'll see how Sam and Dean act in that period of isolation, but also how the rest of the world reacts, as well - specifically Cas and Mary and some other players. The people that have them think they're real, legitimate criminals, albeit kind of terrorists more than your common thief or anything like that. Sam and Dean [are] facing something where it's not like they can do what they normally do."

The executive producer continued by stating that the Winchester Brothers will not be able to tell these government officials that "the monster's real," and "you have to be on our side," which is a tactic the brothers have employed with law enforcement officials in the past. These new photos also show Castiel (Misha Collins) and Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) looking for Sam and Dean. We see the brothers sitting in the back of a government military vehicle in shackles. It remains to be seen whether or not the Winchesters will be rescued by Castiel and Mary, or if they'll find a way out of this latest predicament by themselves.

The midseason premiere of Supernatural also marks a shift to the Thursday 8 PM time period, with DC's Legends of Tomorrow shifting to the Tuesday 9 PM time slot, giving fans a double dose of DC Comics heroes with The Flash airing just before Legends at 8 PM ET. The CW will most certainly debut some new footage from this episode as we get closer to the Thursday, January 26 premiere date, but for now, these new photos will have to suffice. Take a look at these images from the Supernatural Season 12 winter premiere, as we continue the countdown towards this show's return on The CW.
