We are a little less than a month away from the premiere episode of Supergirl season 2, which will be airing on The CW instead of CBS this year. Fortunately a new batch of photos from the first two episodes of Supergirl season 2 have surfaced online to help tide us over until Kara Zor-El returns next month. They also show us a whole bunch of Kara's much more famous cousin Superman, who will be joining her this season.

The photos surfaced courtesy of TV Line and they give us a really great look at the first couple of episodes what will air on The CW. The first episode, which we now know will be titled "The Adventures of Supergirl," seems like it will be introducing us to Clark Kent, as opposed to the costumed version of the Man of Steel. The second episode will be titled "The Last Children of Krypton" and will most definitely be very heavy on both Superman and Supergirl in all of their superhero glory.

There is quite a bit going on in the photos, but from what we can tell the first episode seems as though it will focus on Clark Kent's introduction into the human world of Supergirl. The photos also give us a good look at Lana Luthor, who is being played by Katie McGrath. Every single picture from "The Adventures of Supergirl" are in The Tribune offices and also give us good looks at Mehcad Brooks, who is returning as James Olson and Calista Flockhart, who is reprising her role as Cat Grant. The photos from "The Last Children of Krypton" are much more action packed, showcasing a whole lot of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman. One of the images also features Melissa Benoist as Supergirl stopping a car head-on, which is pretty cool, as well as a whole bunch of shots of Kara and Kal looking very serious in costume together.

The CW also released a new promo to go along with the new photos. While the promo doesn't tell us much about season 2 of Supergirl, it does feature a pretty action packed, slow motion shot of Melissa Benoist flying away and breaking a whole bunch of pavement in the process. The promo does feature a good look at the newly designed Supergirl logo as well, which appears at the end of the footage.

Last year Supergirl debuted on CBS and even though the series was well liked by many, it didn't quite do the big numbers that the network needed to justify keeping it on the air. Luckily The CW stepped in to save the show. Supergirl will be right at home with her fellow DC Comics heroes on The CW for season 2 as The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow have all been doing very well for the network and now Monday through Thursday will be filled with comic book goodness. Plus now that all of the shows are on the same network it will allow for more crossover, including the highly-anticipated musical crossover episode between Supergirl and The Flash.

As of right now, Superman is only set to appear in a couple of episodes this season, but if Hoechlin's version of the character is received well, surely we will be seeing more of him in the future. Supergirl season 2 is set to debut on Monday, October 10 on The CW. Be sure to check out all of the new photos for Supergirl season 2 for yourself below.
