The wait for Stranger Things season 4 remains indefinitely long, but the writers of the hit Netflix series have offered up a little tease to tide fans over. All of the scripts for the upcoming season have been revealed. Not in their entirety, but a stack of them placed neatly on a table. As un-thrilling as that may sound on the surface, it may be a bit more revealing than it appears at first glance.

A photo of the scripts was shared by the official Twitter account for the Stranger Things writer's room. A pile of scripts can be seen on a table. Taking the time to count them, it appears that there are nine scripts in the stack. That would seem to imply that season 4 will consist of nine episodes, which is important since Netflix has yet to reveal the official episode count. The image was shared with the following caption.

"Stranger Things 4: the complete season. #ST4"

Should that prove to be correct, it would be in line with what we've come to expect. Season 1 featured eight episodes, with season 2 going up to nine. Season 3 shifted back down to eight again. Beyond that, it was previously revealed that the first episode of season 4 will be titled The Hellfire Club. This appears to be in reference to the group from the pages of Marvel Comics, which would make sense given the show's 80s setting. But, as one would expect, the creative team is remaining tight-lipped when it comes to the details surrounding what we will see when the show returns.

A teaser last year signaled that the action next season will be moving away from Hawkins. That is crucial, but the biggest mystery has to do with David Harbour's Hopper. His fate seemed sealed at the end of season 3, but a trailer revealed that he is still alive and seemingly in Russia. Though that confirmation raised more questions than it answered. Additionally, a previous report stated that four new characters would be joining the show next season. Beyond that, we are mostly left with hopeless speculation and a seemingly confirmed episode count, with one title revealed. That, admittedly, isn't much to go on. But a big part of the appeal when it comes to Stranger Things is the mystery.

The cast includes Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson and Cara Buono. Production on season 4 had been underway but was forced to shut down back in March. It remains unclear when filming will be able to resume. The delay has also made it difficult to know when Stranger Things will return on Netflix. We will be sure to keep you posted as any further details are made available.
