Stranger Things has finally wrapped Season 3. A couple of the show's main stars confirmed the end of production with a few new photos from the set. Most interesting, perhaps, is the photo of David Harbour that is clearly paying homage to the 1985 Chevy Chase classic Fletch. The actor said before that the show would be partially inspired by the comedy. Now we see he wasn't joking.

Over the weekend, we got to see some leaked images from the Stranger Things Season 3 set, when shooting was still taking place. Those photos teased the climactic end battle scene, and we knew things were going to be wrapping up soon.

David Harbour confirmed shooting had ceased this past Monday. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays mysterious orphan Eleven, and Noah Shnapp, who plays formerly abducted middle schooler Will, also chimed in on social media to let fans know things had come to an end. Netflix hasn't made an official announcement just yet, but it definitely looks like we'll be seeing these new episodes this summer. More than a year and a half will have passed between Season 2 and Season 3, but there was good reason for that.

Each season of Stranger Things is supposed to represent what would have been a sequel back in the 80s. Only each of these sequels runs between 8 and 9 hours long. The Duffer Bros., the duo responsible for creating the series, wanted more time in getting the story right this time out. And by all accounts, even though it means we won't see the show for some time, they succeeded.

Stranger Things Season 3 is set firmly in the summer of 1985. And that means it will be referencing movies from that year. And obviously, now that we see this new image of David Harbour, we know one of those 1985 movies is Fletch. Harbour wrote 'spoilers without context' in his Instagram post, but it's pretty easy to figure out an overview of what is going on. Sheriff Hopper is obviously going undercover. He's got his mustache and his hat, which sports the logo for Gary's plumbing and Heating. The company has been warming Hawkins since 1972, and Hopper will try to sneak in wearing this disguise. Harbour said this on his post.

"Wrapped. Everyone say 'goodbye mustache.' If you need any info on what's good in Hawkins while I'm away, give Gary a call. He can't keep his damn mouth shut. #spoilerswithoutcontext #awfullogos #facecaterpillar #bestjobever #fletch #speilbergeatyourheartout."[/quote}

Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp shared the same image. We get to see the two of them hanging out inside the Starcourt Mall, which will be a major fixture in this new storyline. This is the first time we're seeing Will in his pink and black polo shirt with the large collar. We've already seen this nerdier version of Eleven, as she wore this same exact outfit to the beach earlier in the day, as shown in earlier set photos. She also wears this same outfit during the climactic end battle sequence, which brings the military to Hawkins. Expect to see a Funko Pop of this version of Eleven on store shelves next year.

Millie Bobby Brown shared one extra photo. It again shows Eleven, only this time she is with Max, played by Sadie Sink, both wearing rain slickers as it pours from the sky. The kids look like they are having a lot of fun. Millie didn't offer much context to go with either photo, only stating, 'That's a wrap.' There is a third photo from Millie that shows her and Sadie hugging. She says this.

"As we said goodbye, i gave my best friend the biggest hug and told her i loved her so much. My sister forever @sadiesink_."

You can take a look at the photos below. Netflix has remained quiet on when we'll see the show return, and they haven't dropped any promotional material with the exception of one teaser featuring the Starcourt Mall. Perhaps the first trailer will drop during the Super Bowl, as the last one did for Stranger Things Season 2, with new episodes to follow a few months later on Netflix streaming.
