One of the most highly-anticipated shows of 2014 is CBS' Extant, which stars Halle Berry in her first ever TV role. As sci-fi fans patiently await the show's Wednesday, July 2 debut, the network has released the first trailer for the series. Here we get the tagline, "Life Will Always Find a Way," and the definition of Extant, which means "still in existence," and "the opposite of extinct." The show, which is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, centers on an astronaut (Halle Berry) who tries to reconnect with her son (Pierce Gagnon) after spending a year in space, an experience that will change all life as we all know it.

In a thrilling drama, Halle Berry will play an astronaut who returns home from a year-long solo mission in space and tries to reconnect with her husband and son (Pierce Gagnon) in their everyday life. Her experiences in space and home lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history.

Extant is a co-production of CBS Television Studios and Amblin Television. Steven Spielberg, Greg Walker, Mickey Fisher, who wrote the script, Brooklyn Weaver, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank will serve as executive producers. Halle Berry will serve as co-executive producer.
