Steve Zissis has signed on for one of the two male leads in the HBO pilot Togetherness from creators Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass.

The story centers on two Los Angeles couples who live in the same house, as they try to maintain their relationships. Steve Zissis is playing Alex Pappas, an actor who has been searching for that big break for more than 20 years. His life is upended when he becomes homeless, with only one true friend left in the whole world, Brett. Melanie Lynskey also stars as Michelle Pierson, a full-time mother of two whose marriage is crumbling under these unorthodox living arrangements.

Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass are writing the pilot script and will executive produce with Stephanie Langhoff. As of now, there are no plans for either of the Duplass brothers to appear on screen.

Steve Zissis has a long history with the Duplass brothers, appearing in their films Baghead, Cyrus, The Do-Deca-Pentathlon, and Jeff Who Lives at Home. He has also guest starred on TV shows such as Private Practice, Parks and Recreation, and The League.
