Lucasfilm and Disney have released the synopses for the first two episodes of The Clone Wars season 7. It was recently announced that the long-awaited season will premiere February 21st on Disney+. The Clone Wars and Rebels are often regarded by hardcore Star Wars fans as some of the best stories the franchise has to offer, especially when it comes to filling in gaps left from the big screen adaptations and other material from novels and comics. With that being said, fans have been wanting Dave Filoni to return to the world of Clone Wars for quite some time now.

The Clone Wars Season 7 premiere episode is titled The Bad Batch and it focuses on Captain Rex and the Bad Batch as they infiltrate an enemy base on Anaxes. Episode 2 is titled A Distant Echo and it finds Anakin Skywalker, Rex, and the Bad Batch making a shocking discovery on Skako Minor. The Bad Batch was originally featured in images that were shown at last year's Star Wars Celebration in April. The characters were originally going to show up in season 6, but the show was ultimately canceled.

The Clone Wars is set between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The series follows Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi's experiences during the war, with Skywalker training his own Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano. The show was unexpectedly canceled and Star Wars fans were left bummed out and confused. However, that all changed when Dave Filoni announced the return during San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Filoni is often considered to be the future of the franchise with his deep knowledge of the source material.

Dave Filoni has the deep Star Wars knowledge and also has his fingers on the pulse of what the fans want to see and hear about. The same can be said for Jon Favreau, who worked together with Filoni to bring The Mandalorian together. The show quickly become a fan-favorite after debuting late last year and gave the world Baby Yoda, aka the Child. The show has been praised for doing something new within the familiar world of Star Wars by taking a lot of cues from the influences of George Lucas. At the same time, it does something new and is able to standalone for people who aren't huge fans of the franchise.

The Clone Wars is coming back to officially put an end to the animated series. Thanks to Disney+, fans are able to watch all of the past seasons in one convenient place to prepare for season 7. With that being said, the new streaming services still has some glaring Star Wars omissions, like the made-for-TV Ewok movies and the Holiday Special, though that will probably never see the light of day while George Lucas is alive.
