Star Trek Discovery has released a new trailer for Season 2 offering our first look at Ethan Peck's young Spock. In addition, the latest trailer also features the first look at Rebecca Romijn as Number One. The series is currently in production in Toronto and the trailer was unveiled at NYCC. The previous trailer was released for San Diego Comic-Con over the summer and teased the return of Spock, but never showed him. However, the earlier trailer gave Star Trek fans something to get excited for, and now we finally have our first look at the iconic Mr. Spock.

Star Trek: Discovery takes place about a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series and follows the crew of the USS Discovery. Ethan Peck's Mr. Spock can be heard saying, "As a child, I had the same vision, again and again. Now I understand where it must lead," in the latest trailer, which more than likely has to do with the mystery of the seven signals. Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery appears to be action packed with a lingering sense of doom.

Ethan Peck is playing the role made famous by Leonard Nimoy in the original Star Trek series and films. The character has also been played by Zachary Quinto in the latest Star Trek movies. Peck recently posted a picture of himself with Nimoy's family and thanked them for their "open arms, warm welcome, smiling curiosity, and support, for making me feel worthy..." It's a big role to take on, and hardcore fans are going to be looking at everything that Peck does under a microscope when Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery premieres.

The Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 panel at NYCC also revealed an interesting bit of information about the Klingons. Actress Mary Chieffo confirmed that her Klingon character, L'Rell, will have hair in the upcoming second season, which is a throwback to the way that the characters used to look before they started shaving their heads in times of war and letting it grow in times of peace. It's a small factor, but hardcore fans will more than likely be pretty excited to see L'Rell with some hair this season.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 is set to premiere on CBS All Access on January 17th, 2019. The first season was met with favorable reviews and gained a ton of new subscribers to CBS All Access in the process. The series fired original showrunners Aaron Harberts and Gretchen Berg and replaced them with Akiva Goldsman, which led to some confusion as to how Season 2 was going to pan out. But it looks like that confusion can now be laid to rest since the show looks even cooler than the first season.
