British actor Tom Mison (Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) has signed onto star as Ichabod Crane in the Fox pilot Sleepy Hollow. He joins a cast that already includes Nicole Beharie, Orlando Jones, and Katia Winter.

The pilot puts a unique twist on the classic Sleepy Hollow tale, as it takes place both in present day and during the Revolutionary War. The story follows Ichabod Crane, a war captain who unexpectedly warps a into present-day version of Sleepy Hollow, where he partners with a young detective (Nicole Beharie) to solve crimes. While confused by the modern technology around him, Ichabod becomes more useful than ever when his former enemy, The Headless Horseman, comes back to haunt the town.

We reported last week that Orlando Jones is playing Lt. Frank Walker, a detective who comes to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a double-homicide. Katia Winter is portraying Ichabod's wife during the war.

Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Phillip Iscove wrote the pilot script, with Len Wiseman set to direct the first episode.

Tom Mison can be seen in the new mini-series Parade's End, which debuts tonight, February 26, on HBO.
