Netflix is set to re-imagine the 80s classic cartoon, She-Ra and unleash a brand new series in 2018. She-Ra is a fictional character in the Filmation cartoon She-Ra: Princess of Power, debuting in 1985. A series of toys under her name were produced by Mattel. She is the alter ego of Princess Adora and the twin sister of Prince Adam/He-Man. She-Ra was intended to appeal to young girls in the same way that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe appealed to young boys.

From Eisner Award-winning author and executive producer Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes, Nimona) comes a modern take on the '80s girl power icon, She-Ra, for a new generation of young fans. The trailblazing property originally debuted in 1985 to satisfy overwhelming demand for a female lead fantasy series. With Stevenson's unique voice at the helm, fans are in store for an epic and timely tale that celebrates female friendship and empowerment, lead by a warrior princess tailor made for today. The series will be available to Netflix members worldwide in 2018.

King Randor and Queen Marlena from planet Eternia, had twins, a boy and a girl named Adam and Adora. Hordak, leader of the Evil Horde, kidnapped Adora and escaped to Etheria, where Adora was raised as a mind-controlled Force Captain of The Horde. Adora's uniform, which she continued to wear throughout the series, even after defecting to the Rebels, consisted of a red leotard with long white sleeves, red boots with matching gauntlets, and a black belt. When Adora transforms to She-Ra, two castles are shown in the background. The first is Castle Grayskull. The second is the Crystal Castle.

2018 and 2019 are looking up for fans of She-Ra and He-Man as it looks like Masters of the Universe will be returning to the big screen under direction from David Goyer. The Masters of the Universe movie is still in development, and apparently much closer to production than initially thought. The movie currently has a December 18, 2019 release date with Goyer on board to direct after writing the screenplay. Maybe She-Ra and He-Man will join forces on the big screen yet again, it's closer to happening now than ever before with the new Netflix series.

Though Masters of the Universe is getting a big screen reboot, it does seem a bit odd that Netflix isn't rebooting He-Man at the same time. They are twin siblings after all and it would make sense to see Prince Adam and Cringer show up at some point during the new series. At any rate, there is no release date set for the new She-Ra animated series on Netflix and it will be interesting to see how the show is received upon its release next year.
