The CW Network series Arrow is adding yet another DC Comics villain for Season 2, with Sean Maher (Firefly) signing on to play the villain Mark Scheffer, a.k.a. Shrapnel.

The character will debut in the 10th episode of Season 2, threatening the life of Sebastian Blood (Kevin Alejandro) while putting Starling City on high alert with the threat of numerous bombs. The character's complete origin in the DC Comics isn't fully known, although he was said to be married with two daughters, at one point. He is made completely of metal, and he possesses superhuman strength and stamina.

Season 2 has featured DC characters such as Black Canary (Caity Lotz), Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White), Sin (Bex Taylor-Klaus) and Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau).
