Following a blistering roast last week courtesy of Comedy Central, Alec Baldwin returned to Saturday Night Live on Saturday evening to once again slam Donald Trump. Having now performed the impersonation across multiple seasons, Baldwin is very well-known for his time as Trump on SNL. In the Season 45 premiere with host Woody Harrelson and musical guest Billie Eilish, Baldwin appeared as Trump in the cold open with actor Liev Schreiber. Of course, opening the new season with a Trump sketch isn't too surprising for SNL, especially given the current threat of impeachment the president is facing. You can watch the segment in full below.

In the skit, Alec Baldwin portrays Trump making a series of phone calls with impeachment looming. Joining Baldwin in the skit are Kate McKinnon as Rudy Giuliani, Chris Redd as Kanye West, Aidy Bryant as William Barr, Beck Bennett as Mike Pence, Bowen Yang as Kim Jong-un, Kenan Thompson as Don King, Cecily Strong as Jeanine Pirro, and Alex Moffat and Mikey Day as Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. Liev Schreiber also plays himself, with Trump calling him under the mistaken impression he's the fictional character he portrays in the showtime series Ray Donovan. "Is this Ray Donovan? Ray Donovan, the fixer, the guy who takes care of stuff, wink wink?" Baldwin's Trump asks.

Baldwin's return to SNL as Trump is particularly interesting this time, given the actor's recent comments about his supposed disdain for the role. "I hope a meteor hits this building and kills me because I don't want to do this ever again. I hate this," Baldwin quoted himself as saying every time he had to suit up for the skits for the past two seasons. Certainly, the part has done wonders for Baldwin, even winning him an Emmy in 2017, but it's been looking like he was done with playing Trump. Nobody was expecting SNL to quit with the Trump material, although Baldwin's comments did seem to suggest that he might be passing on the blonde wig to a new performer.

Perhaps Baldwin was humbled after getting burnt to a crisp at The Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin last week. Led by roastmaster Sean Hayes, the TV special saw Baldwin take a verbal beating from such names as Robert De Niro, Chris Redd, Nikki Glaser, Blake Griffin, Caitlyn Jenner, Ken Jeong, Adam Carolla, and Jeff Ross. The actor's daughter Ireland was also present, opening the door for most of the roasters to poke fun at the controversial voicemail Baldwin had left for her years ago. Of course, his legendary impression of the president of the United States made for a lot of jabs on the program as well.

Whether he's happy in the role or not, Baldwin does not appear to be done playing Trump just yet. Perhaps for special occasions, such as the potential impeachment of the president, Baldwin is a bit more eager to stick it to Trump. In any case, we probably haven't seen the last of Baldwin's Trump mockery just yet. The cold open sketch comes to us from Saturday Night Live on YouTube.
