Samurai Jack season 4 ended nearly 13 years ago, and it most certainly did not end in a way that was satisfying for those who had been following the show. In the years since the series went off the air, it has remained a beloved entity and one that has been begging for a proper conclusion. Adult Swim is finally going to give that conclusion to us in just a couple of weeks and the network has just released a brand new clip from Samurai Jack Season 5 to help get us even more excited for Jack's return.

The new clip comes courtesy of Entertainment Weekly and is incredibly action-packed. That shouldn't be surprising to anyone who has seen the trailer for Samurai Jack season 5, but this is a seriously encouraging bit of footage. In it, we see an armored up Jack doing battle with a bunch of formidable looking robot bugs. Despite that, Jack and his awesome new motorcycle, along with some other fun new weapons, manages to tear through the army of evil bugs in stylish fashion. In the new season, Jack is still trapped in the future since the evil Aku destroyed all of the time portals. He has also stopped aging, which is an effect of the time travel. Here is the official synopsis for Samurai Jack season 5.

"It's been 50 years since we saw Samurai Jack and time has not been kind to him. Aku has destroyed every time portal and Jack has stopped aging, a side effect of time travel. It seems he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity."

It has been slightly unclear if this fifth season of Samurai Jack would be the start of an entirely new run or if it would truly be a limited-series type revival. The new report from EW that accompanied the clip made it clear that this will be the final season of Samurai Jack. The good thing about that is, no matter how the series does ratings wise, it seems like we will finally be getting a proper conclusion to Jack's story, which is something fans who have been waiting this long really deserve to see. All we can do is hope is that the conclusion is satisfying and worth the wait.

There is some more good news for Samurai Jack season 5. Phil LaMarr, who voiced Jack during the show's original run, has returned for this new 10-episode run. It was also announced by Cartoon Network's Adult Swim announced last year that this new run of episodes would bring back series creator Genndy Tartakovsky. So this really will be a true-to-form return to the bizarre and wonderful futuristic world that we first fell in love with all those years ago.

Even though it has been made clear thatSamurai Jack is not going to get a sixth season it will be nice to finally get some closure after so many years. Samurai Jack season 5 is set to debut on Adult Swim at 11:30 p.m EST on Saturday, March 11. You can check out the brand new clip for yourself below.
