Roseanne Barr and John Goodman from the hit series Roseanne sent out a new video from the set this weekend, wishing their fans a very Merry Christmas. The video features the Conner family matriarch and patriarch sitting on their living room couch, stating that new episodes of Roseanne will debut in the new year, and that it's, "the gift you all asked for!" This prompts John Goodman to ask, "Did they ask for that?" Roseanne replies, "No, but we're doing it anyway," which shows that the same snarky spirit is still alive in the Conner family.

This video comes just a few weeks after ABC announced the Roseanne revival premiere date, with the special one-hour premiere airing Tuesday, March 27, from 8 PM to 9 PM. The series will then debut in its regular time slot from 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Tuesday, April 3, with new episodes of The Middle shifting to the 8:30 PM time slot. Production wrapped up just a few days ago in Studio City, California. Featuring the complete original cast, new series regulars and notable returning guest stars, the revival will explore life, death and everything in between through the relatable, hilarious and brutally honest lens of the Conner household.

With the inimitable Roseanne at its epicenter, fresh stories that tackle today's issues and even more laughs from a brilliant cast and crew that haven't missed a beat, audiences old and new will celebrate the homecoming of America's favorite working-class family. The series stars Roseanne Barr as Roseanne Conner, John Goodman as Dan Conner, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner-Healy, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, Michael Fishman as D.J. Conner, Emma Kenney as Harris Conner-Healy, Ames McNamara as Mark Conner-Healy and Jayden Rey as Mary Conner. Sarah Chalke, who played the character Becky in later seasons, will also appear in another role, which was recently confirmed. Sarah Chalke's role has been revealed as a middle-class married woman, who enlists Becky Conner-Healy to be her surrogate mother.

It was also recently confirmed that Johnny Galecki is returning as David Healy, with other returning cast members from the original series including Estelle Parsons as Beverly Harris, Sandra Bernhard as Nancy Bartlett, Natalie West as Crystal Anderson, James Pickens, Jr. as Chuck Mitchell and Adilah Barnes as Anne Marie Mitchell. "Roseanne" is produced by Carsey-Werner Television. Executive producers include Roseanne Barr, Sara Gilbert, Tom Werner, Bruce Helford, Whitney Cummings and Tony Hernandez.

The ABC network was so happy with this revival that they ordered an extra Roseanne episode, bringing the episode total for this new series from eight to nine. It has also been confirmed that this revival will essentially ignore the events of the shocking series finale, where it was revealed that the entire series was actually a fictionalized version of Roseanne Conner's life that she was writing for a book, and that Dan Conner had actually died from the stroke he had at the end of Season 8.
