ABC's Roseanne revival has added yet another important new cast member, Shameless star Emma Kenney, who has signed on to play Harris, the daughter of Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and David (Johnny Galecki). Laurie Metcalf revealed this summer that there will be new Roseanne characters introduced in this revival, but fans have technically already been introduced to Harris. Darlene gave birth to the premature Harris in the 19th episode of the ninth and final season of the original Roseanne series.

TV Line broke this casting news today, which comes just a few weeks after eight-year-old Ames McNamara was cast as Darlene and David's son, Mark. The name Mark is said to be an homage to late actor Glenn Quinn, who played David's older brother Mark on the original series, and passed away in 2002. Harris is said to be 14 years old on the series, who is being developed as a "hellion" just like her mother, "in appearance and attitude," although sources claim that the character is still being worked on, and could end up much "lighter" when the series debuts.

The report on Ames McNamara also revealed that the deal for Johnny Galecki's return as David has still not been finalized yet, although Sara Gilbert added that the talks have been "productive" with the actor. While no details about the negotiating process have been revealed, it's likely that the biggest hurdle may be scheduling, since Johnny Galecki is one of the primary stars of CBS' sitcom powerhouse The Big Bang Theory. Roseanne has been given an order for an eight-episode revival, although it isn't clear how large a role the producers are envisioning for Johnny Galecki's David. With production slated to begin next month, it's possible that this deal may close soon.

The eight-episode revival will feature the original cast, Roseanne Barr as Roseanne Connor, John Goodman as Dan Connor, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Connor, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Michael Fishman as D.J. Connor and Lecy Goranson as Becky Connor. Sarah Chalke, who played the character Becky in later seasons, will also appear in another role. Other new characters that will likely be introduced is Jackie Harris' son Andy and Roseanne and Dan's son Jerry Garcia Connor, who would be in their early 20s now. It remains to be seen how many more new characters will be coming aboard as we get close to production starting.

One of the big mysteries surrounding the show involves the death of Dan Connor. In the series finale, Roseanne revealed that the entirety of the series was the reality of her life that she was creating for a book she was writing, and some parts were not true at all. In fact, Dan had not survived the stroke he had in the Season 8 finale and had passed away, and the Connor's really didn't win the lottery early on in Season 9. Roseanne Barr revealed on her official website in 2009 that Dan had actually faked his death and re-emerges in Lanford, Illinois, where Roseanne and Jackie had opened up the town's first medical marijuana dispensary. Emma Kenney is best known for playing Debbie Gallagher in the Showtime hit series Shameless, and she is also lending her voice to the animated film My Love Affair with Marriage.
