Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell's next gig will be as the host of the Travel Channel's revival of Ripley's Believe It or Not!, and a sneak peek video gives us a good look at what the series will be like. The show will officially premiere on June 9, but the extended sneak peek from the network's official website provides over three minutes of footage. Not only do we get to see some of the bizarre talents featured in the premiere episode, we also get an idea of how Campbell will do hosting the show as well. And let's just say Campbell and unusual true stories make for a compelling combination.

One of the individuals we meet in the extended sneak peek is the "world record holder of throwing playing cards," Ohio man Rick Smith. An absolute master of card tricks, Smith has the ability to basically turn cards into ninja throwing stars, pelting them at 92 miles per hour. For Ripley's, he'll be attempting to slice an olive in the air from halfway across the room using a tossed playing card. Of course, Bruce Campbell stops short of revealing whether Smith is able to accomplish this on the show, meaning we'll all just have to tune in to find out.

Also highlighted in the sneak peek is a woman named Kimberly who grew up with a fear of heights, who chose to confront her fears five years ago by taking up the sport of slacklining. After mastering her balance on thin lines of slack close to the ground, Kimberly then chose to pursue "highlining," which involves walking across a tightrope thousands of feet in the air. A man appropriately nicknamed Twisty Troy will also be featured in the episode, as the clip shows us the bizarre ways he is able to contort his entire body. These people and more will all make up the "Natural Born Thrillers" theme presented by the show's first episode, giving us a taste of the craziness we can expect on the series.

Originally a newspaper feature, Ripley's Believe It or Not! first became a TV series all the way back in 1949. Premiering on NBC, it was first hosted by Robert L. Ripley. After Ripley's unexpected death due to a heart attack, Robert St. John took over as the host until the end of its initial run. The series later had a run on ABC from 1982 to 1986 with actor Jack Palance now hosting. In the year 2000, Dean Cain famously stepped in as the host of the show for a TBS revival, which lasted for three years. Chris Tiu hosted the Filipino television channel GMA Network's version of the show in 2008, and the series has been dormant since. Now, with Bruce Campbell in tow, the Travel Channel is hoping their reboot will be the best Ripley's yet.

Bruce Campbell's Ripley's Believe It or Not! will premiere on The Travel Channel on Sunday, June 9, at 9 p.m. EST. It's clear from the sneak peek alone Campbell is a perfect fit as the host of the revival series, and this will clearly be a must-watch show for any fan of the Ash vs Evil Dead actor.
