For those who aren't caught up with Season 4 of the The Walking Dead, there will be spoilers that follow, so read on at your own risk.

The first half of Season 4 ended with a bloody showdown between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and The Governor (David Morrissey), which ended with the prison group being forced to leave their new home, and Rick grieving the possible loss of his newborn baby Judith.

Executive producer and showrunner Scott M. Gimple reveals that fans will see a much different side of Rick, as he takes off with his son Carl (Chandler Riggs).

"It's going to hit [Rick] in a way that we haven't seen before. "If it's just the two of them, [Carl is] going to have to step up quite a bit because circumstances are wildly different and a lot will depend on him in terms of them just surviving. They don't have an awesome, dual-layer fence and brick buildings to hide behind. They're out in the world."

We reported earlier this month that Season 4 will resume on Sunday, February 9 at 10 PM ET on AMC.
